I sent the smothered chicken back because it was old and covered with gravy over very dry rice. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were confused on why the food took so long. An hour passed and we finally got our food. We ordered smothered chicken and chicken and waffles. There were torn seat cushions at several tables. My first impression was the place didn't look like I thought it was going to look. Well, I wished I'd gone to the Atlanta Breakfast Club instead. I will not be eating at this location again. We still left her a tip but, she didn't earn as my as she could've. She acted stunned when I told her but, she agreed to fix our checks. I let her know that the gratuity policy on the wall states gratuity is automatically added to parties of 5 or more and we only had 4. I then informed her that while I stood in line for 30 mins waiting to be seated, I had nothing to do so i looked/read things on their wall. I asked how she calculated everything and she responded telling me that's their new policy. The hostess/waitress had added gratuity to our checks herself. We look at our checks and they are slightly higher than expected. I let the waitress/hostess know that the checks will be in 3 separate transactions. My cousin said the greens and candied yams were tasty.
